Vintage Years for Champagne
Vintage champagnes are produced using the grapes from one specific year. However, not every year is suitable for producing vintage champagne, and most of the large champagne houses will only release vintages 6 or 7 years out of 10. The decision to declare a vintage rests with each individual producer depending upon their own particular harvest.
The following table lists the vintages since 1971, along with their quality rating and storage advice.
